Резюме:
The paper presents some stereotypes in thinking of Bulgarians about the other Balkan nations, close neighbor nations such as Greeks, Macedonians, Romanians, Serbs, Turks, and the other geographically remoted nations such as Albanians, Bosniaks, Slovenians, Croats, Montenegrins. In the first part of the paper, we focus on the theoretical framework and definitions of the term stereotype. The questionnaire which was conducted with Bulgarian respondents and the analyses of its results is presented in the main part of this article. The questions formulated aim to establish what notions are invoked in the minds of the respondents when mentioning the specific Balkan nations. We also reflect on Bulgarian proverbs, idioms etc. connected to notions/stereotypes about the Balkan nations.
