SPORT Media sport as the transformed form of sport in the current socio-cultural environment is spreading to wider public awareness, in addition to focusing on sporting events and informing sportsmen in a wider context. The pages of newspapers do not only cover the latest successful or unsuccessful matches. Media information about the privacy of athletes, about their personal experiences, or about the birth or extinction of their relationship, is spreading medially. This article attempts to point out how information about well-known athletes appears in the on-line news portal environment. The contribution is an attempt to bring about the possibility of shaping the celebrity status of athletes, mirroring the parasitic behaviors of media sports, a significant filling of the media space at first glance, but for the recipients of the text a richly splendid sphere based on tabloid values.
