The journal Sport, Science, Education is an interdisciplinary academic publication that publishes peer-reviewed scientific articles in the field of physical education and sports, as well as related disciplines.
The journal is published by the Faculty of Education at St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo and is issued twice a year (June and December) by the University Publishing House "St. Cyril and St. Methodius."
Each issue features research findings on significant and current topics in physical education and sports, with theoretical, analytical, or empirical focus, in the following sections: studies, articles, reviews, and more.
The mission of Sport, Science, Education is to advance knowledge and scholarship in physical education, sports, and related fields, while increasing the visibility of research on relevant and contemporary issues in these areas.
To this end, the International Editorial Board adheres to clear ethical policies and guidelines concerning authors, reviewers, the editor-in-chief, the editorial board, and the publisher (see Ethical Code). The journal maintains a panel of independent reviewers, who are distinguished scholars. All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening before being sent for double-blind peer review. Reviewers are randomly selected by the editor-in-chief based on the thematic focus of the submitted article. The review process takes one to three months. Only original articles that have not been submitted elsewhere and align with the journal’s scope and publication requirements are accepted for publication. Reviewers recommend articles that demonstrate in-depth analysis of classical and modern theories, scientifically validated innovations, research findings, experimental interventions, and effective educational practices.
To ensure broader accessibility for authors and readers within the international academic community, the journal accepts submissions in Bulgarian, English, or Russian.
