Abstract:

The paper analyses the introduction of a PR system for parlia mentary elections in Bulgaria by the 1912 Electoral Code Amendments. The law changed the main features of the electoral system: the electoral for mula, the magnitude of the constituencies, the electoral thresholds, and the nomination procedures. The author attempts to discover the intentions of the politicians and the political consequences of the reform.
