Abstract:

The article presents the history and fate of the Study Cirkles on Ethnography “Prof. Hristo Vakarelski“ at the Veliko Tarnovo University. Un der the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Nikolay Kolev, it became one of the most successful and desired forms of extracurricular exercise for students from the Faculty of History in the 1970s and 1980s of 20th century. The text traces several main aspects of the history and activities of the ethnography cir cle – a creation, administrative arrangements, the organizing of the circle meetings at the University, practical activities (field expeditions), scientific activities such as participation in various student scientific forums, other forms of artistic performances, as well as the realization of the members of the circle.
