Abstract:

This publication examines some weaknesses and omissions in the 2018 book “Participation of Provadia Citizens in the Bulgarian Volunteer Corps and in the Wars for National Unification (1877 – 1945)” by Dragomir Georgiev. A number of critical remarks have been made regarding the lack of in-depth study of the main archival sources, the reliable presentation of historical facts, the exact use of military names and designations, the knowl edge of the organizational structure of the Bulgarian Armed Forces during the period under consideration, the correct use of specific military terminol ogy, the general idea of the course of the events under consideration, etc., which definitely lower the scientific value of the edition under consideration.
