Participation of Senior Lieutenant Nikola Michov in the Capture of the Tutrakan Fortress

Abstract:

The article pays attention to senior lieutenant Nikola Michov’s participation in the capture of the Tutrakan fortress during World War I in early September 1916. The Tutrakan Epopee was the opening battle of the first Central Powers offensive during the Romanian Campaign. Nikola Michov takes part in the main attack against the South sector of the fortress. As a commander of artillery battery unit he contributed to the capture of one of the three key forts in the sector – fort №7. Nikola Michov’s selfless actions in the Tutrakan Epopee earned him the status of a hero of the wars of the National unification of Bulgaria.
