Abstract:

As a result of some favorable factors and individual events, at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, Ruse rose as a city of strategic military importance for the Ottoman Empire. At this difficult moment for the Empire, Ruse actually turned out to be the military center of its armed forces in Europe, mainly in the time of The Russian-Turkish War of 1806 – 1812. Its successful military governors such as Trasteniklizade Ismail aga, Mustafa Pasha Bayraktar and Bosnak aga were recognized for their activities by the central government in Constantinople, receiving high military posts and responsibilities in the defense of the territory of the Otto man state between the Danube River and the Balkans.
