Abstract:

This article examines the question of the origin of the song about the wedding of Prince Ivan Vladimir and Princess Theodora Kosara. The story from Samuil's reign (11th century) is thought to be legendary, but it is a fact. Therefore, it appeared narrated in various Balkan sources and remained popular until the 20th century. Some of the song’s transcriptions are preserved in manuscripts in the NBKM.
